KU freshman Darryn Peterson, a projected No.
KU freshman Darryn Peterson, a projected No. 1 NBA Draft pick, has yet to play a full game of college basketball — that is, without exiting early due to injury or cramping. The Jayhawks blew out No. 2 Iowa State last night in a 84-63 dominant win that displayed their best performance of the season. Peteson played 27 minutes, including 12 in the second half. He checked out of the game with 5:45 left and the Jayhawks leading by 23 points. He’s missed nine contests out of 17 this season for KU. Those absences have been for a number of health issues, including preseason cramping, a hamstring strain, a separate quad issue and even illness. After the dominant win, Peterson opened up about his injury issues for the first time since November. “It was definitely frustrating because I want to be out there with my guys, I want to be out there for Coach and also for myself at the end of the day,” Peterson said. “It is what it is. I’ve got to just keep going forward, get better every day. That’s all I can ask for.” Read more about Peterson and KU’s win at the link above. #DarrynPeterson #KUBasketball #KUHoops #BillSelf #Big12conference
