Missouri governor says Royals’ new stadium is ‘a good return on investment for taxpayers’
Last summer, Missouri passed the Show Me Sports Investment Act in a special legislative session. It established a framework where the state could fund up to half of the construction costs for new stadiums for Kansas City’s professional sports teams. The stadium itself is expected to cost about $1.9 billion.
