On Monday, the Miami Dolphins released wide receiver Tyreek Hill as part of a flurry of salary-cap moves. Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones wasted no time putting on his recruiting hat, tagging Hill on Twitter/X and writing, “It’s (time),” with a clock emoji. But is a reunion with Hill and the Chiefs truly possible? When the Chiefs and Hill couldn’t agree to terms on a long-term extension in 2022, Kansas City traded him to Miami for five draft picks — a first, a second, two fourth-rounders and a sixth. Hill saw continued individual success in Miami but never reached the team success he had in KC. The Chiefs went on to win back-to-back Super Bowls in 2022-23 after moving on from the receiver. In Week 4 of 2025, Hill suffered a devastating knee injury that required surgery. Considering his age, some had wondered if that could lead him into retirement. But on Monday, Hill thanked the Dolphins via Instagram while hinting that he would make a return to the field in the future.
