Last Friday, the Chiefs publicly bid farewell to offensive coordinator Matt Nagy with a thank-you note on social media. A few hours later, through the same source, Nagy’s replacement Eric Bieniemy was welcomed back to his former role. Nagy remains on the hunt for a new job, and Andy Reid became his top reference while speaking to reporters today. Reid has long preferred spearheading the offense, which is why the club and Nagy agreed to part ways. If Nagy doesn’t land a head-coaching opportunity, the message has been that he would like to find a play-calling role elsewhere. That means that even with Bieniemy returning, nothing is expected to change from a play-calling standpoint for the Chiefs. “I still enjoy calling plays, but what I do is I’m not afraid to delegate and get opinions from people,” Reid said. “And then, even in certain situations, letting them go ahead and call things in different areas. So we do this jointly. I keep it open, and I’ve felt that (it’s) the best way” Read more about Bieniemy’s return to KC at the link in our bio.
